- In the countries where WWT work around the world, where wetlands, wetland nature and peoples' livelihoods are threatened, WWT will deliver community-led and sustainable solutions, and ensure wetlands are more effectively valued and considered in local, regional and national decision making
- Key international decision-makers value wetlands and WWT will build a global community of highly skilled individuals creating and managing wetlands and mobilising wetland support
To achieve these ambitions, WWT runs a programme of conservation projects connecting communities to wetlands in the UK and beyond, creating and restoring essential wetland habitat for wildlife and people and campaigning for governments and the public to take action for wetlands. The charity's work also includes researching and monitoring the benefits of wetland habitats.
Across their centres, WWT brings adults and children closer to nature through learning and engagement activities, as well as enabling them to experience amazing wildlife spectacles. The charity broadens its reach by working with communities outside of its centres to help local people realise the tremendous health, wellbeing, social and economic benefits of their wetlands for themselves.
